A Calm Soul Makes Trying Times Conquerable When You Are Chronically Ill

Difficulties can give you an opportunity to exercise your focus and determination. Living with chronic pain and illness is one of the greatest difficulties you will face on a day to day basis. During trying times, try to concentrate on maintaining a calm soul. This approach will help you to conquer the challenges that face you. Challenges can range from trying to muster up enough energy to take a shower to dealing with an unsupportive group of people in your life.

Avoid being reactive to difficult situations that catch you off guard. Like when your spouse hints to you that you’re lazy. While it is easy to allow confrontation to anger you, choose to take the higher road. Lay it on the line to God. Give him all of your anger in that moment of frustration.

Spend time on nurturing your mind and spirit. Start and end your day in meditation and prayer. Create a comfortable ambiance for your senses with fragrance and music. Choose something that works for you and that you love so you will stick to it. Remind yourself to keep calm when that is the least natural approach. It helps you to develop the will to overcome the toughest situations. When tough situations arise, imagine yourself in your safe meditation space to help calm yourself.


When you encounter resistance, the first step is to silence your soul. Ignore the stirrings of impatience and anger that pull at you. Block them out completely. Realize that giving in to negativity only serves to worsen any situation and increase your stress level. Your focus is on overcoming the challenge at hand by counteracting negativity with positivity and peace.

Your wisdom in handling trying times encourages you to act from a place of calm reasoning. When your soul is calm, you are able to think things through. By rejecting unease at your core, you are able to make smart choices that produce finer results.


Today, YOU ARE a conqueror. YOU can overcome any obstacle.


With serenity, you can see the value in all your life experiences. Even obstacles become worthwhile and meaningful when seen in this light. You are on the path to healing.
